Welcome To Dharani Life Skills

Need of the hour

India’s growth demands a skilled workforce, but low vocational enrollment hampers potential. Telangana, advancing rapidly, is tackling this with targeted skilling programs and reforms to align education with industry needs. By 2030, Telangana aims to generate 16 lakh jobs, especially in IT, life sciences, and renewable energy. The state’s educational initiatives include increased budgets and local job reservations, while recommendations call for shifting to market-driven curricula, integrating soft skills training, and establishing career pathways with internships to enhance employability and meet labor market demands.

Despite Telangana’s well-earned reputation as a leading IT and AI hub, Government degree college youth remain largely and unjustly excluded from the AI-driven economic transformation happening literally in their neighborhoods. Our survey among 2000+ students in September & October 25 across 12 colleges paints a concerning picture, while most youth are aware of AI tools like ChatGPT, they see it on social media, hear friends talk about it. But, the daily usage remains extremely limited and largely confined to basic, surface-level tasks such as writing essays or doing simple research. There is an awareness without depth, curiosity without skill, interest without guidance.

According to the latest data from sources like the Periodic Labor Force Survey and the India Employment Report 2024, Telangana’s youth face a significant challenge. The youth unemployment rate (ages 15-29) has surged to 16.6%, a figure well above the national average. The problem is even more acute in urban centers, where unemployment stands at 25.4%, and among graduates, where it hovers around 20%. These statistics point to a critical mismatch between what is taught in higher education and the skills required by employers, highlighting the urgent need for a new approach to vocational training and industry-aligned education.

We’re attempting to bridge the gap that exists among rural youth who are unemployed and passionate (19 – 29 age) looking for an opportunity to become an employable for them. We are offering rigorous skills training at taluk level / block level / even village itself
